Bob Bonies Dutch, b. 1937
"A painting has no other function than to be a painting."
Bob Bonies (*1937) is considered one of the most important representatives of the Geometric abstraction. A form of art within the Abstract shapes. Bonies used, like some of his colleagues, a systematic approach. As a result, emotion and the hand of the artist were excluded image", he called it himself. According to Bonies there was only possible way to interpretate a geometric shape; as a shape.
His work is characterized by primary colors and the absence of a personal handwriting. He felt that an artist should not necessarily be available for many buyers by making graphics and multiples. In addition, he often worked in series.
