Michaël de Kok | Inaugural exhibition
Michaël de Kok paints memories of landscapes that he traverses with his dog during walks. The figurative elements that can be found in his earlier works, however, have made way for energetic areas of color; his recent paintings approach abstraction. Only the horizon still plays a role, albeit as a vertical movement. But it is precisely that border area where the two color areas meet that creates tension.
Following the successful exhibition at the De Pont museum in Tilburg, BorzoGallery is showing De Kok's work for the first time. A selection of his recent paintings is presented in the upper room.
