There are 2 versions of the work. The one that's with Benno Premsela is the original. Ger van Elk's version is in two parts because he wanted to be able to hang the work on two walls at an angle. The parts can also be hung one below the other. I do not know whether the two parts and the entire work of Premsela are exactly the same length and whether the colors and the figuration are completely the same. That would surprise me. The character is clearly the same. It is in fact an 'after-study', a term coined by Van Elk that he used in his own subsequent work. He really wanted the work and in that context I (Peter Struycken) made the work for him and exchanged it with him.
